“I’ve spent 25 years in construction, working hard—both on the ground and operating heavy equipment. Over time, I realized I needed a career path that was less physically demanding. Thanks to The John Huntington Fund for Education scholarship, I was able to complete a CDL training program at Cuyahoga Community College and take that next step. I’m still in the construction industry, but now I’m moving equipment and delivering materials to job sites instead of doing the heavy labor myself. I’m earning more, and most days I come home without being covered in mud. Honestly, I wish I had gotten my Class A CDL years ago.”
