- John Carroll University -

“I recently graduated from John Carroll University with my bachelor’s degree in biology. Like many students, I entered college with a clear plan: I was pre-med and envisioned a future in traditional medicine. However, as I progressed through my academic journey, I began to realize that while I loved science and healthcare, I was drawn even more to the relational and systemic aspects of care like how people are supported, how systems function, and how organizations serve their communities. While I haven’t mapped out every detail of my path, I’ve found purpose in staying open to where my interests intersect – science, service, and leadership. I hope to combine my STEM foundation with my passion for people and with a strategy to improve how care is delivered across our communities. Currently, I’m working full-time as an Admission Counselor at John Carroll University, where I have the privilege of guiding students and their families through one of the most important transitions of their lives. Helping others access the same opportunities that shaped me has been incredibly rewarding. The JHFE has played a crucial role in making all of this possible. The scholarship gave me the financial freedom to focus more fully on my education and career development without the constant pressure of financial stress. I’m deeply grateful to be part of the Huntington Scholar community.”
