“Receiving the JHFE Scholarship made it possible for me to attend school. When starting school, I was recently divorced and with young children. I had also taken in my two stepchildren. My earliest motivation to become a nurse came from my mother, who is a graduate of CSPN. I remember trying on her scrubs as a young girl, dreaming of following in her footsteps. That desire has only grown stronger over the years. I’ve always had a passion for caring for others and have worked in various roles in the healthcare field since I was nineteen. Much of my experience has been centered around supporting individuals dealing with end-of-life conditions. This area of care has become especially meaningful to me. I want to continue expanding my knowledge and scope of practice so that I can better support patients and families during such critical and emotional times. The JHFE Scholarship has not only given me financial support, but also the opportunity to grow into the kind of nurse I’ve always aspired to be.”
