Anelia
- Early College Early Career -
“My name is Anelia, and I am at Garrett Morgan School of Engineering and Innovation. I am part of the Early College Early Career (ECEC) program. The summer before my senior year, ECEC provided assistance in finding an internship in a manufacturing company. The company I was placed does metal stamping and specialty extrusions. My first month, I worked as a robotic welder and loved it. Throughout the month, I began to do very well, and my manager decided to move me to the Quality office. In this Quality office, I measure parts, log data, and learn from my mentors about all kinds of things related to manufacturing. I worked Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, from June to August. Then, when school began in September, I was scheduled to work once a week. I now work every Friday while also balancing school. It can be overwhelming, but overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to learn more in my desired field of engineering and to continue gaining connections along with endless knowledge!”
