“JHFE has helped me pursue a degree at the Cleveland Institute of Art for my dream job in graphic design. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities this scholarship continues to offer me and for my future.  I first realized I wanted to pursue art in middle school when my teacher became the first person to truly appreciate my work. She encouraged me to express my emotions through art, which deepened my passion for it. Later, she suggested I explore Graphic Design in high school and I fell in love with it. I knew then that I wanted to make it my career—it’s such a powerful way to express myself, connect with others, and help bring their visions to life. When I visited CIA for an open house, I had recently lost my grandfather. During the tour, I learned that the building was once a Ford factory—where my grandfather had worked. At that moment, I felt like it was a sign. Hearing about the courses and the structure of the first-year program solidified my decision, and I knew CIA was where I belonged. The ability to create meaningful designs that help people express themselves is something I look forward to every day. I am deeply grateful for this scholarship because it reassures me that my art is valued and supported. Knowing that I have a community believing in me gives me the confidence to continue pushing forward. Thank you so much for believing in me and helping me navigate my college journey. ”
